Jin Shofu Wheat Paste
GENERAL INFO - Jin Shofu wheat paste is a highly refined wheat starch adhesive, considered by many conservators
to be the smoothest and best wheat starch adhesive available. Wheat starch paste
is very strong, dries clear and forms a more flexible adhesive layer than rice starch. Jin
Shofu is prepared by mixing with water and cooking. Consistency is easily adjusted with
the addition of more water for a thinner paste and increased cooking time for a thicker
paste. Jin Shofu wheat paste is a completely reversible adhesive.
Resistant to mold growth, prepared Jin Shofu should nonetheless be refrigerated in a sealed
container.
